Sarah Castiglione

A Bristol (UK) based Dance Movement Psychotherapist who is professionally trained to use Humanistic, Person-Centred and Integrative approaches and embodied and creative practice for adults and children in personal therapy. Clinical Supervision for therapists integrating embodied, creative approach and methods.

I work in Private Practice with adults/young adults and through an agency with children.  

Professional Registration

My professional registration is held with the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMP UK) which is HIPC and UKCP Registered.

I've held Clinical Licence Registration since 2009 studying at Dance Voice Therapy Centre and graduating with an MA in 2013. 

 

Registered Private Practitioner Licence in 2020 and Clinical Supervision Licence in 2023.

ADMP UK Professional Code of Ethics and Professional Practice and following the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics for the UKCP, BACP and HCPC.

Private Practice

Personal Therapy & Clinical Supervision

I work from a beautiful, tranquil studio based near Kingswood in Bristol. I accept self-referrals as part of the CAPPP community.

I work with NAOS (Bristol) CIC to support adults and children with backgrounds of adoption, trauma, abuse, ASD and support better mental health. I provide Clinical Supervision groups for therapists and other professionals and leads who engage and work with others as part of their role to enhance therapeutic, creative, reflective practice.

Clinical Experience

Hospitals

AWP NHS hospital placements and voluntary work within a multi-disciplinary team and providing individual and group Body Movement Psychotherapy sessions.

Dance Movement Psychotherapist at the Royal Hospital Chelsea providing individual psychotherapy sessions to the older population facing end of life care, in recovery of PTSD and experiencing mental health symptoms or sensory impairments. I worked with the Healthcare team and the Activities Team in support of Group Therapy work.

Dance Voice Therapy Centre - Placements and co-therapist work providing Dance Movement Psychotherapy to support groups in Addiction Recovery, Mental Health in Women, Learning Difficulties. Performance support in the community with this.

I have worked in many residential care homes providing Dance Movement Therapy Groups and sensory sessions with the older population and in particular to help with Dementia and Parkinson’s and with the aims of creating opportunities for social engagement and to enhance mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

I co-founded the Hub of Creative Arts Therapists who are a team of Dramatherapists and Dance Movement Psychotherapists working on various projects together including providing Interactive Performances in residential settings and Group Therapy Creative Workshops.

National Autistic Society â€“ Groups and individual Dance Movement Therapy with children and teenagers on the Autistic Spectrum.

​

Fosseway Special School – M.A. placement in school team working with children with Autism and severe learning difficulties. 

Collaborative Work

I have experience of designing and running Group Therapy Workshops to support Mental Health, particularly Anxiety and Depression. Workshops are in collaboration with other Psychotherapists and Creative Arts Therapists and incorporate a range of techniques and practices.

I provide Guest Lecturer reflective practice workshops for therapy trainees and support with personal therapy alongside training.
